TIPS TOEIC REACHED 950 POINTS OF ME. In the final section about my study and TOEIC exam, I would like to talk more about the TOEIC exam.
Before going into each section, some notes that I draw as follows:
I. Study book and Practice book
Quite a lot of you ask yourself about this part. By tips TOEIC reached 950 points and from my personal experience, each person with different qualifications will fit different titles.
Books at the level that are right for you will help you consolidate what you already know, while navigating helps you learn more about things you don’t know (by looking where you don’t know, look it up).
But there are too many books to choose from. So, what are the criteria for selecting a book? For me, if you understand that book is 60-70%, then it is a suitable book. On the contrary, if you understand 80-90%, it is below your level, if lower than 50%, it is a bit of a problem, when studying, it will be easy to get frustrated and often face the situation of not understanding anything.
Books, most of you can download for free. So I think that you can try to study that book to see if it is suitable, then “develop”. If not suitable, then move to another title.
II. How to look up what is unknown
When encountering clusters that do not understand, I often try the whole phrase on google -> If results do not appear, they usually do not have a phrase -> Look up each word individually in the dictionary and then re-match.
On the contrary, if there is a result of the whole cluster, there will usually be explanations or examples that I can always understand. In general, “google god attorney” really quite useful for English learners.
Now back to each section. How is the TOEIC exam structure and the format change, you all know it?
If not, please check TOEIC Test Format 2020, Syllabus and Scoring Guide
In short, a sentence is a new format … harder.
I also took the exam and asked to certify that it was not really easy. I also encountered some words that I didn’t know, had to guess the meaning. So, I suggest the tips TOEIC reached 950 points for you.
Here I would like to give some points I drew after exam preparation and practice TOEIC. I also see a lot of “test tips” on the internet, so here I will point out my own little ways to supplement them.
1. Listening Comprehension – Tips TOEIC reached 950
Only 45 minutes with 100 sentences. Key to doing well: Reflection and Practice.
Note: Freeze immediately.
Throughout it is quite a lot of accents => need to practice listening to familiar (mostly accustomed to changing from one accent to another, when the exam changes intermittently, it may be stunned).
PART 1: 6 photos
This form is probably most of you are familiar with and know how to do it. I also have only some summaries:
Do not try to guess the topic while looking at the picture, because it will be easy to take care of looking for the sentence that you guess, then miss the correct answer.
You need to understand the Verbs and Nouns mentioned in the description. Sometimes, when you do not need to understand all the details, you can also choose.
PART 2: 25 questions and answers
This part is purely reflex and experience. So try to listen a lot, including real life situations (movies for example) => you will learn how to “respond” to communication situations.
PART 3: Conversation 2-3 people with 3 questions each
PART 4: Speech (with graphic combination) with 3 questions per topic
These two parts are similar to each other. Fortunately, the questions will appear in the correct order in the speech -> you can completely solve them one by one.
A trick I often use to not have to remember too much is to use “3 fingers”. Which means, when I hear the answer, I will put my finger on that answer, so I don’t have to remember. You see in the picture dentist.
The reason is that it is completely unrelated, and it sounds fast again, so if you don’t try to “note” the answer again, you will probably forget it.
2. Reading Comprehension – Tips TOEIC reached 950
100 questions in 75 minutes, which means you have less than 1 minute for 1 question. Key: Grammar and Vocabulary
Note: Allocate time
PART 5: Complete the sentence – 30 sentences: I usually take 7-8 minutes
This section consists mainly of grammar sentences (chosen based on word type), and sentences about the meaning of words.
PART 6: Fill paragraph – 16 sentences: I usually take 6-7 minutes
This part is mainly based on the meaning of words, and link the sentences together into a matching phrase.
So with the first 2 parts, learning grammar and basic vocabulary is ok. The hard part will be Part 7.
Subtracting the above 2 parts, I have about 60 minutes left for the remaining 54 questions of Part 7. Each question lasts 1 minute, with 5 minutes remaining to check the questions confused.
PART 7: Single paragraph: 29 sentences; Paragraphs and paragraphs three: 25 sentences
This part will be quite confusing because of a lot of information, important is exhaustion too.
My advice is:
- Please read the previous question, from the questionnaire above.
- Know the whole scene, the context of the characters, but do not go into the hurry. Details just need to check according to the question.
- Make a clear distinction between a person’s name and their location in documents, as it is extremely easy to be fooled.
- Often the topics of business, office, common social issues -> increasing your knowledge of these topics will be an advantage for you to visualize the context.
Some of you have the opposite way 7-6-5. I think this is up to people, I always do the right thing, because it gets harder and harder.
